Kawai MP-11 SE stage piano with wooden keyboard
If you are looking for a stage piano with a piano-focused playing experience, the Kawai MP-11 SE offers 88 wooden keys, Ivory Touch key surfaces and Grand Feel (GF) action with let-off simulation. This gives you a touch clearly aimed at piano playing, while the matte black finish and dimensions of 1380 x 452 x 190 mm position it as a serious choice for fixed setups and stage use.
Sound generation is handled by Harmonic Imaging® XL and you get up to 256-note polyphony. In the PIANO section you will find Concert Grand, Studio Grand, Mellow Grand, Pop Piano, Jazz Grand, Upright Piano and Mono Concert, alongside an extensive E.PIANO section and SUB section with strings, pads, vibraphone, marimba and several bass sounds.
Flexible stage piano for splits, zones and recording
The Kawai MP-11 SE works in Full Keyboard, Upper Split, Lower Split and Zone modes, with freely adjustable ranges. For live use and control of external gear, the MIDI section offers 4 zones with MIDI Out, channel settings, Local On/Off, volume, MMC Transport, split, controller functions, program changes and bank selection. You can store settings in 208 setup memories, so frequently used configurations stay within easy reach.
This stage piano is also broadly usable for recording and developing ideas. The internal MIDI recorder stores 10 songs up to 90,000 notes and supports MIDI-to-audio conversion, while the audio recorder captures directly to USB memory in MP3 or WAV with overdub. During MP3 and WAV playback, A-B Loop is available, and via Line In the incoming signal is recorded as well.
Connections, sound editing and included accessories
For deeper sound adjustment, the MP-11 SE includes Virtual Technician functions such as voicing, stereo width, string resonance, damper resonance, key-off effect, damper noise, hammer delay, fall-back noise, topboard, brilliance and per-key adjustment. It also includes 129 effect types with up to 10 parameters each, 6 reverb types with time, pre-delay and depth, a 4-band EQ plus Master EQ, and an amp simulator with 5 amp types for the E.Piano section.
Connections include XLR outs with ground lift, 6.3 mm line out and line in, a headphone jack, inputs for GFP-3 pedal, foot switch and expression, plus MIDI In / Out / Thru, USB-to-host, USB-to-device and AC power. Included are a GFP-3 triple pedal with half-damper function, music rest and power cable. At 34 kg this is a substantial instrument; at Magna Music you can also get practical advice from staff who are players themselves when choosing the right setup.
