Buffet Crampon Bb clarinet with RC character
The Buffet Crampon RC 18/6 is a Bb clarinet based on a design from 1975, developed in collaboration with Robert Carrée. The character of this clarinet is described as pure, centered and stable, with remarkable homogeneity across all registers and the flexibility for which the RC series is known.
After a redesign in 2014, based on ten years of acoustic research and development, the overall intonation was revised and improved. You notice that in an even response, a warm centered tone and projection that meets the demands of the modern clarinetist.
Construction and layout of the RC 18/6
This Buffet Crampon clarinet has 18 keys and 6 rings, with the extra left Eb key as a distinctive detail. That additional key gives you more fingering options and expressive possibilities in playing. The body is made of stained grenadilla wood, also known as Dalbergia Melanoxylon, a wood species long associated with high-end clarinet making.
The poly-cylindrical bore and careful finishing underline the craftsmanship of the RC. Leather and cork pads complete the build, while the wooden finish gives this clarinet a classic look.
Fully equipped for serious clarinetists
The Buffet Crampon RC 18/6 comes with two barrels, for 440Hz and 442Hz. This lets you match the clarinet to different ensembles and playing situations. The luxury leather case complements that nicely and offers suitable protection for transport and storage.
