Digital piano with an acoustic piano look
The Medeli DP-650K BK is a model from Medeli’s top series, combining an elegant design with the feel and appearance of an acoustic piano. Operation stays clear and straightforward thanks to the modest but easy-to-read 2.08 inch dot-matrix OLED display, so you can quickly find settings while playing, practising or recording.
This digital piano comes in matte black and has cabinet dimensions of 141.5 x 50.5 x 106.5 cm. With its fixed furniture-style build and 2 x 40 watt amplification, the Medeli DP-650K BK is aimed at a full piano setup in the home or teaching room.
Medeli DP-650K BK and the K8 keyboard
Under your hands is an 88-key hammer action keyboard with weighted touch. The Medeli K8 keyboard has a top layer that feels like ivory and uses an extra sensor to register key release as well, which supports a more piano-focused playing experience. Visually, this keyboard also differs from the K6 keyboard, making it look even more like a piano key.
With 256-note polyphony, there is plenty of room for intensive pedal use and layered playing. You get access to 40 voices, plus 128 GM sounds and 8 GM drum kits, along with 90 songs to work with.
Connections, recording and microphone use
The Medeli DP-650K BK is broadly usable for piano, vocals and computer-based work. You can connect a dynamic microphone to sing along with your piano part, and 9 microphone effects are available that were designed specifically for this use. The built-in equalizer lets you adjust the piano tone using several presets.
Via USB, you can connect a computer for sequencer software, USB-MIDI and sending audio into DAW software. There are also connections for headphones on 6.3 mm jack, pedals, USB host, USB device and Aux-In/Aux out on 6.3 mm stereo jack. Recording is possible in SMF1 MIDI and in 44.1 kHz 16 bit stereo 320Kbps mp3. The piano includes a power adapter and manual.
