Boss SY-1 synth pedal for guitar and bass
With the Boss SY-1, you can add synthesizer sounds straight to your guitar or bass without a special pickup and without any programming knowledge. This compact pedal works through a standard 1/4-inch cable and delivers 121 ready-to-play sounds, divided across 11 types with 11 variations each.
All sounds are polyphonic, so you can play not only single notes but also chords. The zero-latency operation makes the pedal feel natural under your fingers, which is especially useful when you want to play freely without changing your technique.
Wide sound range with quick control
The Boss SY-1 offers a broad selection of analog synthesizer sounds, from leads, basses, pads and organs to strings, bell tones, sound effects and rhythmic sequences. That makes this guitar synth pedal suitable for solos as well as chord work and jam situations where you want to switch quickly between different textures.
With the Tone/Rate and Depth controls, you can shape sounds quickly to match your preference. On some sounds, you can also affect pitch, while the Hold function lets you sustain a synth voice and play your regular guitar part over it.
Built for pedalboard use
Independent level controls let you blend the synthesizer sound with your direct guitar or bass tone, making it easy to find the right balance. The mode switch optimizes the synth engine for guitar or bass, which gives the Boss SY-1 flexible use on a single board.
The parallel send/return loop also helps with easy integration alongside other pedals. If you want more control while playing, the SY-1 also supports an external footswitch or an expression pedal. If you need advice on pedalboard placement or combining it with other effects, Magna Music can also help with practical guidance from musicians.
