The Ludwig LB416 Black Beauty Snaredrum is a 14" x 5" snare drum in black, built around the well-known Black Beauty concept. Ludwig forms the shell from a single sheet of brass into a seamless shell with the characteristic beaded center.
That 1.2 mm black nickel plated brass shell gives this Ludwig snare the warm, round metal tone the Black Beauty is known for. The production process is difficult and distinctive, which is why only a limited number of Black Beauty snare drums are made each year.

This Ludwig LB416 has 2.3 mm steel triple flanged hoops and 10 lugs. That gives it the familiar build drummers look for in a classic 14" x 5" Black Beauty snare drum.
