Tama snare drum with quick response and clear definition
If you want a snare drum that responds lightly and sensitively, yet still keeps enough bite when played harder, the Tama PE1445 Peter Erskine Signature Snaredrum is a strong option. This 14 x 4.5 jazz snare was designed with affordability in mind, without sacrificing playability or sound quality.
The shallower shell makes this snare drum highly dynamic and very responsive to soft playing with plenty of definition. When you dig in more, it delivers a roaring, snappy sound that stays clearly present.
Build of the Peter Erskine Signature Snaredrum
The shell is made from 6 mm spruce/maple: 4 plies of spruce with 2 inner plies of maple. On the batter side there is a reinforcement ring with the same specifications as the shell, helping balance sensitivity and body.
The 8-lug design keeps the sound full, so the compact depth does not come at the expense of body. The brown lacquered wood finish also gives this Tama snare a refined look that fits easily with different drum kits.
Finish and hardware
The Tama PE1445 comes fitted with a Remo coated Ambassador batter head and an Ambassador clear snare-side head. You also get a Tama MS20RL14C Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wire, a Tama Linear-Drive strainer and a 2.3 mm Steel Sound Arc Hoop with 8 holes.
Inside the shell you will find a special sticker hand-signed by Peter Erskine. If you want personal advice on a signature snare drum or want to compare different models, Magna Music can help with staff who are drummers themselves.
