Tama practice kit with realistic drum feel
The Tama TTK4S True Touch Training Kit is designed for drummers who want to practise at home at low acoustic volume while still aiming for the response of an acoustic drum set. That realistic playing feel, combined with sensitive dynamic expression and controlled stick response, makes this practice kit a strong choice if you want to work on technique and articulation in a focused way.
Where many practice kits mainly aim to stay quiet, the Tama True Touch Training Kit also focuses on sonic feedback and nuance in your playing. That gives you more information back from every stroke during practice, helping you refine control, dynamics and precision.
Construction of the Tama TTK4S True Touch Training Kit
The AAD Snare Pad stands for Accuracy Articulation Dynamics and uses a multilayer design with strong materials and foam filling. Inside, there is a kind of snare mat that approaches the feel and sound response of a snare drum. The dual-ply mesh head gives a realistic stick feel, can be tuned from low to mid-high tunings, and includes a raised area to imitate the hoop for rimshots and side stick techniques.
The tom and floor tom pads are built to keep acoustic sound heavily damped while maintaining a natural stick response. Their dual-layer foam rubber surface feels soft and avoids excessive rebound, with a small shell attached for added resonance and playing feel. The Solid Kick Bass Pad uses multiple foam layers with air holes for a solid attack with some give. It also produces a slight open sound, feels secure through its wide two-legged stand, and works with nearly all single and double pedals. The height can be adjusted to match the pedal setup.
Configuration and practical use
This Tama TTK4S configuration includes a Solid Kick Bass Pad, an AAD Snare Pad, an 8 inch tom including clamp, a 9 inch floor tom including clamp, and a tom stand. The tom stand uses Space Save Tripod Legs, giving you a stable base while saving space in your practice area.
Please note that this kit is supplied without kick pedal, hi-hat stand, snare drum stand, cymbal stands and cymbals. If you want personal advice on a practice setup or matching hardware, Magna Music can help you with staff who are drummers themselves.
