The Tama TTK5S True Touch Training Kit is a practice drumkit that makes home practice more comfortable through its low acoustic volume, while keeping the feel of an acoustic drum set in focus. The snare, toms and bass drum are each designed separately to approach their own playing response as naturally as possible. This gives you more useful feedback from your sticks, attack and dynamics during practice than a standard practice pad setup.
Construction of the True Touch Training Kit
The AAD Snare Pad uses multiple layers of strong materials with foam filling and an internal “snare mat” that recalls a snare drum in both response and sound. Its dual-ply mesh head can be tuned from low to mid-high tensions, and the raised edge imitates a hoop so you can also practise rimshots and side stick techniques properly on this pad.
The Acousti-tone tom and floor tom pads reduce acoustic sound considerably and use dual-layer foam rubber with a soft response and controlled rebound for a more realistic feel. The Solid Kick Bass Pad combines multiple foam layers with air holes for a solid attack with some give, produces a small open sound, and stands firmly on a wide two-leg stand. Its height is adjustable, and the pad works with nearly all current single and double kick pedals on the market.
Configuration and use
This Tama True Touch Training Kit includes a Solid Kick Bass Pad, an AAD Snare Pad, two 8-inch toms with clamp, a 9-inch floor tom with clamp, and a tom stand with Space Save Tripod Legs for a stable base with less space taken up. That makes the set suitable as a compact practice setup for home or a teaching room.
