Taylor Academy 22e acoustic guitar focused on playing comfort
With the Taylor Academy 22e, everything is aimed at easy and comfortable playing. Taylor designed this acoustic guitar as simply as possible, without binding or decorative details, while keeping the focus on a guitar that sounds good and feels easy to play. The rounded armrest edge on the body makes resting your arm more comfortable during longer sessions.
The slightly shorter 24-7/8 inch scale length, about 63 cm, also contributes to that feel. Because of the shorter string length, the string tension is a little lower, so the guitar feels more supple under your fingers. The standard Phosphor Bronze Light strings are also slightly thinner than usual, adding even more playing comfort.
Construction and practical details of the Taylor Academy 22e
The Taylor Academy 22e has a 15 inch body width, a 19 1/2 inch body length and a 4 3/8 inch body depth. You get 20 frets, Die-Cast Chrome tuners and a Nubone nut combined with a Micarta saddle. There is no pickguard on this model, which matches the stripped-back design of the Academy series.
Taylor also uses Academy Series bracing, and this guitar comes with a gig bag so you can take it easily to lessons, rehearsals or on the road. If you are looking for an acoustic guitar where comfort clearly comes first, the Taylor Academy 22e fits that purpose well.
