Ibanez bass guitar with versatile electronics
The Ibanez SR Standard SR500EBM Brown Mahogany is a 4-string bass guitar in standard E-A-D-G tuning, with an 864 mm scale length. The combination of Bartolini® BH2 neck and bridge pickups with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ gives you plenty of ways to shape your sound. Using the EQ bypass, you can switch to passive operation, where the treble pot works as a passive tone control, and the 3-way Mid frequency switch lets you select the midrange focus as well.
That makes this electric bass well suited to different playing and practice situations. If you want personal advice on setup or playing comfort in our store, you can rely on people who work with and play instruments themselves.
Construction and playing feel of the SR500EBM
The SR45pc neck is built from jatoba and walnut and leads to 24 frets on a rosewood fretboard with abalone oval inlay. With a width of 38 mm at the nut, 62 mm at the 24th fret, a thickness of 19.5 mm at the 1st fret and 21.5 mm at the 12th fret, plus a 305 mm radius, this Ibanez SR Standard gives clearly specified dimensions for players who pay attention to neck profile and upper-fret access.
The okoume body is paired with black hardware and an Accu-cast B500 bridge with 19 mm string spacing. From the factory, the bass comes strung with D'Addario® EXL165 in .045/.065/.085/.105, matching the usual setup of a 4-string electric bass.
Materials and finish
The brown Brown Mahogany finish gives this Ibanez bass guitar a warm, understated look. The rosewood fretboard and black hardware fit that appearance well, while the abalone oval inlay adds a noticeable detail without making the design busy.
For bassists looking for an electric bass with 24 frets, passive Bartolini® pickups and active tone shaping, the SR500EBM is a focused choice for home, rehearsal or stage use.
