Selmer Signature alto saxophone with refined playing and tonal response
The Selmer Signature alto saxophone builds on the Super Action 80 Series II, a model that has marked saxophone history since 1986. It retains the tonal characteristics of the Series II while offering improved intonation, especially in the upper register, and easier emission in the low register.
This Eb alto saxophone has a range from low Bb to high F#, giving you broad use for lessons, study and performance. The gold lacquer finish gives the instrument its classic look.
Construction details of the Selmer Signature alto saxophone
Selmer uses a new 3-point neck receiver system here for more even sound homogeneity across the instrument. The adjustable nickel-silver tightening ring increases density in this sensitive area, matching the goal of a more homogeneous tone.
The mechanics have also been further refined. The octave key system with Teflon supports makes the action more fluid, while keys inlaid with natural mother-of-pearl and leather pads with metal resonators and rivets add the level of finish you expect from Selmer.
Ergonomics and complete outfit
The ergonomics are inspired by the Series II and updated with recent innovations carried over for the Supreme, to meet the needs of different players. The left- and right-hand thumb rests are made of fine gold-gilded metal.
You receive the Selmer Signature with a Concept alto mouthpiece, ligature and cap, plus exclusive Signature accessories: an alto case, strap, silk/microfibre cloth, swabs for body and neck, and cork grease. If you want to try this alto saxophone first, you can test it in the Magna Music store with advice from the wind department.
