Shure MVX2U XLR-USB audio interface for recording and streaming
If you want to connect an XLR microphone straight to your computer, the Shure MVX2U is a compact and practical solution. This XLR-USB audio interface is ready to record or stream right out of the box and works with both dynamic and condenser microphones.
The MVX2U delivers up to +60 dB of gain, so microphones with lower output can be driven properly, including the SM7B. For condenser microphones, 48 V phantom power is available, letting you use different types of XLR mics on Mac and Windows with one interface.
More control over your microphone sound
Through the free ShurePlus MOTIV desktop app, you get access to the onboard DSP in the Shure MVX2U. In Auto Level mode, microphone gain is set automatically for a consistent output signal, which is useful for podcasts, streams and quick recording sessions.
If you prefer manual control, you can adjust gain, limiter, compressor and EQ yourself or use saved presets. That lets you tailor the sound and signal processing to your voice, microphone and application without extra external gear.
Connections and everyday use
The built-in 3.5 mm headphone output allows zero-latency monitoring, so you can hear yourself directly while recording or streaming. Its streamlined and robust design connects straight to an XLR microphone, or you can use the Shure MVX2U inline with XLR cables.
A USB-C to USB-C cable is included for connection to your computer. If you want personal advice on microphones and recording setups, Magna Music can help with guidance from staff who are musicians themselves.
