Tama snare drum with classic Bell Brass character
The Tama BB-156 Mastercraft "The Bell Brass" looks back to a legendary 1980 design. This 50th Anniversary Reissue has been reproduced as faithfully as modern technology allows to the original specifications, bringing the well-known Mastercraft sound back to drummers once again.
Its 3 mm cast bell brass shell, made from a copper and tin alloy, gives this 14" x 6.5" snare drum strong projection and a notably wide tonal range. In the original description, this model is associated with extreme volume and broad use across heavy rock, jazz and fusion.
BB-156 construction
On the Tama BB-156, the heavy bronze shell is matched with 10-hole die-cast hoops for a solid build. The snare drum uses Original Superstar Lug (6371N) lugs and a Roller Action strainer with references 6302N/6303N/6338N, staying close to the original version.
The 18-strand Carbon Snare Steel Long Snare Wires (6035N) are also part of this setup.
