Fender Stratocaster with Eric Johnson specifications
The Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster Maple is an electric guitar for players drawn to Eric Johnson’s refined, pure tone. Every part of this Stratocaster follows his detailed preferences, from the specially designed Eric Johnson single-coil pickups to the distinctive tremolo construction and the extra-contoured neck and body.
The five-way switch gives you the familiar Strat sound combinations, while the master volume, neck tone and bridge tone controls let you shape your sound with precision. That makes this Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster a strong choice for guitarists who pay close attention to nuance and setup in their playing.
Build and playing feel of the Eric Johnson Stratocaster Maple
The lightweight two-piece alder body has deep 1957-style contours and cutaways, staying close to the classic Strat shape. Its one-piece vintage-tinted maple neck is very smoothly sanded and has a '57-style soft V profile, a neck shape many players appreciate for its defined grip and direct connection to the instrument.
The maple fingerboard adds to the character of this model, with a 12-inch radius and 21 medium jumbo frets. That gives you a flatter playing surface than many traditional Strat versions, combined with a recognisably vintage foundation. At Magna Music, you can also count on personal advice from musicians who know how much neck profile and setup affect playing feel.
Pickup and tremolo design
The specially designed Eric Johnson single-coils feature recessed screws and work with the five-way selector for a versatile Stratocaster layout. The controls stay clear and practical with master volume, a tone control for the neck position and a separate tone control for the bridge position.
The vintage-style tremolo uses a silver-painted block, a '57-style string recess, no paint between the base plate and block, and five springs. Fender also chooses a version without a tremolo cover, fully in line with Eric Johnson’s specifications and the carefully considered design of this signature model.
