Medeli MK401 keyboard with XY pad and sampler
The Medeli MK401 is a keyboard built around experimenting and making music. Its 61 touch-sensitive keys let you play with dynamics, while the XY pad gives you direct control over the sound with a simple finger movement. You can shape parameters such as LPF, HPF, resonance, reverb, delay and sidechain for extra expression while playing.
Medeli aims the MK401 at a younger group of musicians, but the user-friendly interface also makes this keyboard approachable if these effects are still new to you. The backlit LCD keeps everything clear while you play and adjust settings.
Wide sound set, styles and recording options
On the Medeli MK401 you get 600 sounds plus 5 sampling slots, 200 styles, 200 preset songs, 140 demos and a Music Tutorial System. With 64-note polyphony you can play fuller parts without notes dropping out too quickly. Registrations can be stored in 4 x 6 banks for fast recall of your settings.
The built-in sampler and microphone above the display let you record a sample, such as a voice. The keyboard then automatically transposes that sample and spreads it across the full key range, opening up creative options for backing vocals, voice effects and your own ideas.
Connections and everyday use
For home use, lessons or a compact setup, the MK401 offers plenty of connectivity. It includes DC power, USB-MIDI and USB-AUDIO, a headphone/output on 6.3 mm jack, a 3.5 mm input, a microphone input on 6.3 mm jack, a sustain pedal connection and an SD card slot.
The built-in 2 x 15 watt amplifier and two 12 cm speakers make this Medeli keyboard ready to play without extra gear. With dimensions of 956 x 360 x 118 mm and a weight of 5.1 kg without batteries, it also stays easy to handle. You can use it with a DC 12 volt / 1000mA power supply or with 6 AA batteries. If you want to expand later, Magna Music can also help with practical advice on pedals, headphones and other keyboard accessories.
