The Meinl PKA17AW is a 17-note kalimba, also known as a thumb piano, pre-tuned to the C major scale. The chrome-plated steel tines are engraved with note information, helping you find your way around the instrument more quickly. Its American walnut body gives this Meinl kalimba a warm tone that suits calm pieces, meditation and creative playing.
Connections and controls for amplified kalimba
What makes this model extra versatile is the integrated pickup with a high-quality 6.3 mm output jack. You can amplify the kalimba when playing in a larger room, on stage or when recording. The volume control, FX volume control and tone control let you shape the signal to your preference.
In addition, the Meinl PKA17AW includes an AUX/REC output and a headphone output. That makes this kalimba practical not only for acoustic use, but also when you want to practise more quietly or use the instrument in a recording setup.
