Gretsch Brooklyn snare drum with open tone and warm punch
This Gretsch Brooklyn snare drum in 14" x 6,5" combines an open, modern and innovative sound with the warm punch drummers know as "That Great Gretsch Sound". That makes this snare a good match for players who want a distinctive character in a versatile size.
The Brooklyn series has its own sonic personality and feels like a familiar Gretsch voice with fresh ideas. That makes this snare drum appealing to drummers who want to bring tradition and a contemporary response together in one drum.
Brooklyn snare drum construction
The shell is built from 6 plies of maple and poplar and is slightly thicker than the shells used in the USA Custom and Broadcaster series. Combined with the typical Gretsch 30° bearing edge, the rounded edge where the head sits, this gives the snare drum its recognizable build and response.
Inside, you will find the classic Gretsch Silver Sealer with the distinctive Brooklyn label and an individual model and serial number. The high-quality REMO heads are held in place by solid 302 steel hoops, modeled after the Gretsch "stick chopper" hoops used in the 1950s.
Finish and origin
The Satin Black Metallic finish gives this Gretsch snare a clean, stylish look. The 14" x 6,5" size is a popular format for drummers who want a full and present snare drum.
The Brooklyn series is dedicated to Gretsch Drums' connection to Brooklyn, New York since 1883 and is hand-built in the USA in Ridgeland, South Carolina. At Magna Music, you can count on advice from people who play themselves.
