Walrus Audio Eras distortion pedal with five voicings
If you want a distortion pedal that goes beyond one fixed high-gain sound, the Walrus Audio Eras gives you plenty of range. The 5-position Mode rotary control lets you select five distinct distortion voices, from a slight mid cut with tight response to a deeper mid cut with a warmer, fuller rhythm tone.
Mode 1 uses LED hard clipping for a tight response, for example with palm muting. Mode 2 pairs a slight mid cut with silicon hard clipping for a smoother sound with extra compression, while Mode 3 combines LED and silicon hard clipping for a richer tone with added sustain. In Mode 4 you get scooped mids and direct response, and Mode 5 delivers rhythmic, warm and full distortion.
More control over gain, EQ and signal blend
The Walrus Audio Eras uses controls for Volume, Blend, Gain, Bass and Treble. The active Bass and Treble EQ lets you cut or boost lows and highs depending on the type of guitar or pickups you use. That makes it easier to dial the pedal in for your setup and playing style.
The Dry/Wet Blend control allows you to mix in a dry signal. That is useful when combining the Eras with other overdrive pedals or when gain stacking. For bass guitar, that blend control is especially practical because it helps retain more definition from your dry signal.
Connections and power
True bypass keeps your signal clean when the effect is off. The input and output are top mounted, which works well on a compact pedalboard.
The Walrus Audio Eras runs on 9-volt DC, center negative, with a minimum of 100 mA. A power supply is not included. This pedal is made in the USA.
