Electronic drum kit for quiet home practice
The Roland VQD106 Quiet Design Drum Kit was created for drummers who want to practice at home without filling the surrounding space with playing noise and vibrations. According to the supplied test results, this electronic drum kit reduces sound by 75 percent compared with a conventional V-Drums kit, while stick impact in the room is comparable to an average conversation.
That makes this Roland drum kit especially focused on use in living spaces, where pad noise, floor vibration, and the thump of kick and hi-hat pedals can be a problem. Please note that this drum kit is supplied without bass drum pedal, drum throne, headphones, sticks, and drum mat.
Roland VQD106 pads and hardware
The snare and toms combine noise reduction with the stick feel and natural rebound you expect from V-Drums. The PDQ-8S snare and PDQ-8 pads use a sound-absorbing honeycomb rubber insert under a mesh head, while vents on the underside release air pressure to further reduce playing noise. On the snare, you get independent head and rim triggering, plus a soft rubber rim for quiet rimshots.
The three CYQ-12 cymbal pads also use honeycomb rubber, mesh covers, and ventilation. In crash and ride positions, they offer independent bow and edge triggers, natural swinging movement, and choking by grabbing the cymbal. For hi-hat use, a CYQ-12 works together with the FD-9 control pedal for detailed response and ultra-quiet operation. The KDQ-8 kick pad has an 8-inch playing surface for single and double kick pedals, a dense three-layer cushion and dual-ply mesh in a floating frame, plus four rubber feet and the included KDB-Q silent beater to reduce contact noise and transfer to the floor.
TD-07 module and connectivity
This Roland VQD106 includes the TD-07 sound module with acoustic and electronic drum sounds captured in professional studios. You can customize the sounds by swapping drums, changing tuning, adding muffling, and using EQ. That lets you shape the kit to your own preference and playing situation.
Bluetooth allows audio from a smartphone or tablet to stream directly to the module for playing along or video lessons. Via USB, you can record stereo audio and MIDI into a DAW, trigger computer-based instruments, and work with coaching software such as Melodics™.
