This Drum Workshop Performance Birch Limited Edition snare drum combines custom-quality construction with the tonal character of 100% birch HVX® shells. Birch is known for its balance of clear articulation and warmth, with a sharp attack, short sustain and balanced resonance. That makes this snare a strong fit for many styles and especially appealing in studio situations.
The shell uses HVX-grain, a horizontal, vertical and diagonal grain orientation that contributes to a versatile and fully musical response. For this snare drum, Drum Workshop uses a 10-ply birch shell with a 45-degree back-cut bearing edge, supporting response and definition.
Build and finish of the Performance Birch Limited Edition
The Performance Series is handcrafted in the Custom Shop in California and is temporarily available in this all-birch shell version. This model comes in 14" x 6.5", a popular snare drum size for drummers who want a full and defined stroke. The Satin Natural finish highlights the natural look of the birch nicely.
