Paiste crash cymbal with a broad, modern sound
The Paiste Formula 602 Modern Essentials 16" Crash was developed in close collaboration with Vinnie Colaiuta and is aimed at drummers who want to combine clarity and consistency with depth and warmth. This crash cymbal delivers a modern, versatile sound character with balanced dynamic properties, making it a strong fit for many all-round applications.
In its sound, you hear the transparency and stick definition of the classic Formula 602 models, expanded with richness, warmth, darkness and soft complexity. The series also has a little more "swag" than its classic siblings, giving it a more contemporary character.
CuSn20 bronze and handmade in Switzerland
For this 16 inch crash, Paiste uses CuSn20 bronze, also known as traditional or 602 bronze. The cymbals are handmade from start to finish by highly qualified specialists in Switzerland, which matches the careful nature of this series.
That material and production method open up broad, dynamic sound dimensions, paired with a responsive, soft and controlled feel under the sticks. If you want personal advice on which Paiste cymbal best matches your setup or playing style, Magna Music can help with musicians on staff.
For studio and live use with soft to medium playing styles
The Paiste Formula 602 Modern Essentials 16" Crash comes into its own with soft to medium volume playing styles. You can use it in the studio as well as on stage, where control, nuance and a balanced response matter.
In terms of application, this crash cymbal fits a wide musical range, from pop, rock and jazz to fusion, blues, R&B, country, folk and acoustic music. That makes it a solid choice for drummers looking for one Paiste crash for different settings.
