Boss XS-1 pitch shifter for guitar and bass
If you need a pitch shifter pedal that changes tuning or pitch instantly without losing the natural character of your instrument, the Boss XS-1 is a strong option. This compact effects pedal for electric guitar and bass works polyphonically, so chords and fast melodic lines stay clear with subtle detune sounds, drop tuning emulation or larger pitch jumps.
The range runs from about ± seven semitones to ± three octaves up or down. That makes the Boss XS-1 useful as a virtual capo, for parallel harmonies, octave effects or expressive pitch shifting in live performance and studio work.
Simple control and flexible connections
The Balance control sets the mix between your dry signal and the effect, while the Shift knob selects the desired pitch change. The Shift Direction switch lets you choose up, down and detune, and the Pedal Mode switch gives you toggle or momentary operation.
The Boss XS-1 includes 1/4 inch input and output, a 1/4 inch TRS CTL/EXP connection and DC IN for power. Buffered bypass keeps the signal active in your chain, and you can power the pedal with a 9 V DC adapter or the included 9 V battery.
