Compact OM acoustic guitar with a mature sound
If you want an acoustic guitar that feels comfortable without sounding small, the Eastman PCH1-OM is a strong option. Its compact OM body and 24.9 inch scale make this steel-string easy to play, while the solid Sitka spruce top adds clarity and dynamic response.
The laminated sapele back and sides add warm support to the sound and offer extra stability. That makes this Eastman well suited to practice at home, playing on the go, and recording in the studio.
Construction and finish of the Eastman PCH1-OM
The body measures 15 inch x 4 1/4 inch x 4 inch and uses X-bracing. An okoume neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, a 1 3/4 inch bone nut, and a bone saddle create a solid foundation for playing comfort and overall finish.
Visually, the Eastman PCH1-OM keeps a classic, tidy look with an abalone rosette, black top and back binding, a black teardrop pickguard, and a Truetone Satin finish in Natural Satin. A padded Eastman gig bag is included, useful when you want to take the guitar with you. At Magna Music, you can also get personal advice from musicians and setup work in the in-house workshop.
Playing feel and practical details
The Traditional Even “C” neck profile and 12 inch fingerboard radius give this OM guitar a familiar feel. With 22 Jescar-FW43080 frets, a dual acting truss rod, and an action of 3/32 inch on the bass side and 2/32 inch on the treble side at the 12th fret, the PCH1-OM is aimed at comfortable everyday use.
There are no electronics, so this is a purely acoustic version. From the factory, the guitar comes strung with D’Addario XS Coated Phosphor Bronze Light strings in .012 to .053, fitting players who want a compact acoustic steel-string with a classic look and direct response.
