S.E. Shires tenor trombone with large bore and clear projection
If you want a tenor trombone that sounds broad yet stays clear in the ensemble, the S.E. Shires STBQ30GR is a strong choice. This professional trombone has a large .547-inch bore and is built around the bright, singing sound, projection and clarity that S.E. Shires is known for.
The QTY bell measures 8 1/2 inch and is a two-piece, hand-hammered lightweight gold brass bell with a soldered rim and “QI” taper. That gives this tenor trombone an open response with plenty of carrying power, helping your part come through in different ensemble settings.
Construction of the STBQ30GR
The QW47 handslide is made in standard-weight yellow brass with a wide nickel silver crook. In practice, this delivers a broad sound that keeps its color, projection and clarity, while articulations come through crisp and brilliant.
The S.E. Shires STBQ30GR also features a standard F rotary valve and a QY tuning slide. The valve keeps the sound focused in every register without giving up comfort in the valve register, making this trombone a versatile option for players who need one instrument for many ensemble situations.
Supplied complete and ready to play
This S.E. Shires tenor trombone comes with a Q series tenor trombone case, a mouthpiece and a maintenance kit. You also get three interchangeable yellow brass mouthpieces, so you can start playing right away with different setup options.
The engraving on the bell combines the S.E. Shires maker’s mark with a traditional floral motif. When you choose your brass instrument at Magna Music, you can also count on personal advice from people who work with wind instruments themselves.
