S.E. Shires tenor trombone from the Joseph Alessi Q-series
The S.E. Shires STBQALESSI Professional Trombone was developed in collaboration with Joseph Alessi to offer a professional tenor trombone at a more accessible price point. This trombone combines materials and construction in a way that aims for balance between tonal color, efficiency and resonance.
If you are looking for a tenor trombone with broad musical use, this model projects easily while keeping a warm, broad sound. That makes this S.E. Shires a strong choice for players who want to stand out musically.
Sound design and construction of this tenor trombone
The QAlessi bell measures 8.5 inches and uses a two-piece lightweight yellow brass construction, with an unsoldered rim and special annealing treatment. According to the stated design, this helps the tenor trombone project easily while retaining width and warmth in the sound.
The newly designed QAlessi F-valve with rotary mechanism is paired with a gold brass F-slide, adding depth and density to the sound along with the clarity and stability of a rotary valve. The gold brass tuning slide with drawn tubing also adds complexity and warmth.
Handslide, finish and included accessories
The QAlessi handslide has a .547 inch bore and uses a combination of alloys to achieve a balance of consistency, clarity and flexibility in tonal color. The slide is made in standard-weight gold brass with a wide yellow brass crook.
The bell features a custom engraving reading S.E. Shires Joseph Alessi Model. This tenor trombone includes a Q-series tenor trombone case, mouthpiece and maintenance kit. At Magna Music, you can also count on personal advice from musicians and service in the in-house workshop.
