Buffet Crampon clarinet for study and advancing players
The Buffet Crampon Klarinet E-13 GB 17/6 is a clarinet with a long-standing reputation. For forty years, the E13 name has been linked to a model that has accompanied amateur and advanced musicians to conservatories, music schools and wind orchestras around the world.
That background makes this wooden clarinet attractive for players looking for a serious study model with features from the professional line. In our Roosendaal store, you can also compare and try an instrument like this with advice from staff who are musicians themselves.
Construction and finish of the E-13 GB 17/6
Buffet Crampon builds this clarinet from selected pieces of Greek wood from Mozambique and assembles the instrument in the brand’s own workshop. The keywork and plating are silver-plated, while blue steel springs, screwed pillars, threaded screws and joints with natural cork complete the technical setup.
Since January 2015, the E13 has been fitted with leather pads. That matches the careful construction of this model and suits players who value a solidly finished Buffet Crampon clarinet.
New bell with more projection and clarity
The E-13 has inherited the new bell from the RC, the sister clarinet referring to Robert Carrée. According to the product information, this bell gives more projection and clarity regardless of register or tone, which helps in practice when you want to remain clearly audible in lessons, ensemble or wind orchestra.
The adjustment screw for the low F key is another practical detail. It allows the action produced by the lever to be regulated more precisely, which suits players who like their clarinet to be adjusted accurately.
