Pearl snare drum for a focused musical application
The Pearl FTMM1450 Free Floating Task Specific Snare Drum was developed around one clear idea: choosing a specific sound for each musical situation. Within this updated Free Floating series, the differences in shell type, size, weight, material, thickness and application are used to create a more targeted match for your own sound and timing.
With its 14” x 5” size, this snare drum offers a classic format that fits easily into many setups. The #321 Satin Maple finish matches the wooden shell, which is finished in a matte lacquer exclusive to Pearl for this series.
Construction of the Pearl FTMM1450
The shell of the Pearl FTMM1450 is made from 6-ply 7.5 mm maple. It also features Die-Cast hoops, free floating lugs, chrome hardware and a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head. The FT-50 lugs, 10 rods and SST-5042 tension bolts are part of this configuration.
For snare adjustment, Pearl uses the SR-160F strainer with Click-Lock system. This locks the lever together with a small adjustment screw, so the setting does not come loose while playing and stays where you set it. The snare wires are the SN-1420I.
Free Floating snare drum with practical control
With a snare drum like this, not only the size or material matters, but also how stable everything remains in use. The combination of the SR-160F strainer and Click-Lock system makes the Pearl FTMM1450 appealing to drummers who want to keep a fixed setting during rehearsals or on stage.
If you are looking for a Pearl snare drum with a maple shell, 14 x 5 size and Free Floating construction, this is a clear option within the Task Specific series.
