Evans 8 inch drumhead with controlled tone
The Evans TT08EC2S Clear SST is an 8 inch drumhead from the EC2 series. This clear tom head uses two plies of 7mil film, which in practice helps give you defined attack, balanced tone and sustain that stays under control.
Evans adapts the construction of each EC2 head to the size of the drumhead, so this 8 inch version gives a response that suits its diameter. That makes this drumhead a strong choice if you want a tight, even sound from your tom.
SST Edge Control for a pre-EQ'd sound
An SST Edge Control ring is mounted on the underside. This Sound Shaping Technology is designed to shape the sound within the head itself, giving a very balanced and pre-EQ'd result across the full kit.
Because the ring size varies for each head size, its effect is matched to this 8 inch tom. You notice that in the direct attack, the controlled note length and the ease of tuning while setting up your kit.
