Laskey french horn mouthpiece 85G with European Shank
The Laskey Classic 85G European Shank is a french horn mouthpiece from the highly regarded G Series. This series has long been praised as one of the most popular horn mouthpieces and was developed by Scott Laskey after extensive research and development with top horn players.
The G Series is known for a strong balance between tonal clarity and tone color. Its cup is slightly shallower than that of other models, which makes this Laskey french horn mouthpiece broadly usable across different playing styles and musical backgrounds.
Control, articulation and intonation
A defining feature of the G Series is its rim design. The rounded rim with a high point toward the inside gives you easy flexibility along with strong control and precision while playing. You notice that in clear articulation and accurate intonation throughout the full range of the horn.
Laskey organizes its horn mouthpieces according to the approximate metric inner diameter, so size 85G is a clear designation within the range. All G Series cups use a standard throat size of .182” / 4.62 mm.
Fits many European horns
This version uses a European Shank, also referred to as an EU shank. It was developed after testing many horn brands and models and fits many European-made horns or horns with a European-style leadpipe.
